This is the only hospital in the area that is designated “area of critical need” by the Federal Government, and, as such we see a very diverse population of patients. I have completed all my core rotations through the inpatient unit where I ran the unit as a “team leader” teaching the interns, residents, and the medical students how to operate as independent physicians. I also rotated through consultation liaison psychiatry where I integrated the medical practice with the practice of psychiatry. All of my core rotations in Geriatrics, Child Psychiatry, and Addiction have been completed as well. As the chief I am now responsible for running and maintaining a residency program that has over 50 residents.
